Firepod inputs and spdif out

Hello,

I've been using a Firepod for a while and I haven't been able to figure out how to get input from the 8 INs on the Firepod to be sent out of the SPDIF OUT on the back.

Is this possible to do? if so, is it possible to do with out the computer on?
