I am just setting up a studio using a new Dell computer with Windows XP, from which I plan to Podcast, and am thrilled to have found this forum. Thanks for reading my first post.
I'm very new do digital audio, as you'll soon find out.
1.) I left the Mackie 1220 power on for a long time, many weeks, with a Electrovoice RE20 microphone plugged into it. That channel strip seems dead now. Did I kill it? How should I have it repaired?
2.) I'm trying to setup the Mackie to record Skype calls, using a "mix minus" auxilary feed. If I'm using the correct language, don't be misled. I have no idea how to do this. I have Adobe Audition 3.0 software, with an Onyx firewire.
3.) Once I'm actually recording, I presume I'll need a digital recorder to capture the output as a backup to the PC. Am I correct? What hardward would make sense?
Any response would be appreciated. Your knowledge is far greater than my own. Many thanks.
Sincerely,
Kevin
