Hi, This is my first post!

I am looking to build a new computer and have decided on an Asus Xonar HDAV Deluxe sound cardto do all decoding work in the future.

To start with, I am looking for a 2.1 Speaker System. I had my eyes on a Acoustic Energy Aego M system. This system is active and has a built in amp for three front speakers (right, left and centre) as I am aware.

I would like to have the chance to go 5.1 or 7.1 in the future.

Am I correct in my understanding that If I buy a AV Reciever or a 7.1 Amp I will be able to add 4 speakers to my setup, connect all the speakers to the receiver and plug the receiver into my sound card using phono cables, (in order to leave the sound card to do the decoding, not the AV Receiver).

Or do I need some other equipment.

My two questions are can this be done and which 2.1 system would you buy.

My budget is around £150 ($300)

Thanks for any replies:)
