I recently bought a Samson CO1U USB microphone which came with Cakewalk Sonar LE.
When i first installed it it was fine for what i wanted to achieve, which was just to record two guitar parts separately and mix them together just for the purpose of showing the other guitarist in my band what different parts could sound like.
Up til now i was using Audacity and a standard Shure PG48 vocal microphone with a converter to plug into the 3.5mm microphone jack on the computer. But i would like to record more professional parts with the MIDI instruments and features provided on Sonar LE.
My computer is just a standard PC (32bit i assume) with no extra hardware and around 80GB of memory.
My main problem is that i have no MIDI output on my computer and i don't know how to solve this.
I would like to use my keyboard to record different sounds via MIDI but also use the MIDI features on the recording software, which from the looks of them are quite good.
At the moment i cannot hear any MIDI from Sonar LE because i have no MIDI outputs, but i have come up with one solution that may work, which is from buying an M-Audio MidiSport although i am not sure...
This is a diagram of the idea...

I would then be able to hear the MIDI from Sonar through the keyboard speakers (which i could then hook up to some bigger speakers if necessary) and be able to record from the keyboard using a MIDI channel in the program, i assume?
Any information would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you for reading.
