Bops2000

Bit the bullet for 08, I am running 06, and usually upgrade every other version.
Cakewalk is pretty good to the Bops, so the $230 in acuality is pretty darn cheap, considering, some programmer has, (I will assume a minimum of 1000 hours in the upgrade, more likely 3 times the personell plus packaging and documentation).
On that assumption, lets say at $30 /hour real cost, times a conservative 3.00 multiplyer for overhead and 10% profit..
That comes up to 90 Grand.
My purchase at $230 would be a 0.25% of sale towards the initial cost of production.
IF NO-ONE buys the software as an initial Customer at $700...
AND everyone ONLY upgrades from Sonar 6,
THEN...
Cakewalk will have to sell 434 copies to make cost + 10%.
How many copies they sell ?, beyond me, but a great product, and great service should do them well.
(yea, it's a plug for Sonar, but a non re-imbursed statement on my part.)
