Is Ableton Live suitable as a stand alone DAW?

If not/so - why?

What I am presently doing is using Ableton Live to produce and construct tracks.

Is it in and over itself suitable to master in? Or should one use a different DAW/Editor to do that in?

What are your thoughts on Adobe Audition?

I use it pretty much like alot of producers use pro tools, digital performer, sonar, etc.

he "editing" is non-destructive and I cant say that I 100% love that but with slightly more mouse work you can edit vocals and instruments very nice and maintain fidelity (no pun intended) all within the box.

I used to just import all audio I wanted to edit into Audition but I am of the firm belief that if you can do it all within one program and maintain full fidelity....its a no-brainer!

Thanks for the response. That post was made last year but I did go ahead and purchase Live 8 Suite. Having had Ableton Live since version 5 I figured it would be best to continue down that path.

Ableton Live really is an amazing program. The reason I posted that was more from the perspective of whether or not Ableton is adequate to get the best over all sound. I now believe that it really is. I will say that I genuinely like some of Adobe's inboard effects however. Their tube modeled compressor and multiband compressor are very cool.

Sound is really good to me. I believe I heard some talk of going to 64 bit (curently its 32 from what I understand).
