I only get this static noise (it's terrible) when playing music from FL. I can compose some music and it's fine at first, but the more instruments I add the static comes back. It happens most when playing the preset music track samples from other folks.

I just downloaded drivers for Creative SB Live! (WDM) I don't know what the actual name of my soundcard is, so if I do need to find that out, please let me know.

I've tried muting Midi/CdAudio/Line-in because someone suggested it. Doesn't seem to work.

Xp Home edition
Service pack 2
Pentium 4 CPU 1.90 GHz
768 MB of RAM
If that matters.

Look in the manual (been a long time and many versions since I used FL)
and raise the BUFFERS.

Getting rid of the gamer soundcard would help you use faster settings....

I agree.. seems like buffer underruns. Your only rockin 768 megs of ram you need more than that to handle like 5 instruments in FL. a card with dedicated memory might be the way to go for you. Try an M-audio delta 1010lt or any of the audiophile cards $199 @ the most $40 at the cheapest. i bet this would solve your problem and give you more options than you realize for little moneys. This gets you into protools, steinberg, Real midi creation, smoother sailing and multiple ins and outs.
Good luck
