Hi,
I am in the process of building a new computer to work as a dedicated audio machine. Previously on PII - WIN98se wanting to graduate to a P4 - XP. Seems after reading the forums it's not without problems!I have a GINA20 bit soundcard which I still swear by. Does any one know of the best config. for this card running CUBASE5.0 or SX, WAVELAB? Need to start work soon and my old computer is dead as a Dodo!!
Hope some one is out there....

Good to read the GINA has still got some life in her! I spoke to Sound Devices in Sydney and they seemed to think an Intel chipset should see me through, after that it probably begs the question of which motherboard? Are you running Cubase 5.0 and/or SX?
Thanks for replying.

I own a Gina20 and run it under 2000 and XP. It does fine once configured properly, but you aren't going to get any further support from Echo. You'll be stuck in Beta land forever. I'm in the process of trying to sell that card and move up to the Layla 24 which will continue to be supported. That will be a very good step in the right direction! Out of all the soundcards I've run Echo's have always been the best.

This is for SonicJD:
I just posted a problem with my Gina 20. here's the post:
Having major problems with Gina 20 in this setup. It continuously freezes (no sound output, all meters on console are peaked & frozen) and won't work again until I reboot. Works fine briefly & then does the same thing.
Anyone having this problem or know how I can configure Gina to fix this issue?
If not, anyone have a similar set up (name brand PC, integrated factory sound card, XP) who can recommend a card that works/sounds great w/no problems? Help!
Sonic, you said your Gina works fine in XP. Have u ever had this problem or know anything about it?
Thanks
