Hello,

I just bought a firestudio project which installed smoothly, and seemed to work great. The only issue I am having is that while using Cubase, the program will lag for about 5 seconds every minute or so whether I am recording or not. When I am recording and this happens, Cubase's monitoring audio cuts out, and it stops recording (it continues to play once the lag is done). I figured this might be from my firewire card, so here it is:

A few more interesting things to note, I tested this in both Cubase and in a 3rd party vocoder program using the Firestudio's ASIO, and it did the same 5 second lag every minute or so, except in this case it stopped the audio all together until I reset it in the preferences. Also, in Firecontrol when I set the main channel to Mixer and get a monitor feed directly from the box (not through cubase), it is not affected by the lag. That audio is uninterrupted. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the FSP, and even switched which firewire ports I was using on both ends.

I am running Win XP on a computer I built. 2 GB ram, 3.0 gHz intel core duo, 250 GB hd. When monitoring Task Manager while the lag happens, there is no CPU spike or anything. I've run Cubase before with an M-Audio interface many times on this computer and I've never had a lag issue like this. I'm pretty sure this is an issue of getting information to and from the box, but please let me know if you have any suggestions or if there are any tests you think I should run.

Thank you for your help!

David
