cant get midi to usb keyboard to work

Hi. I hooked up my keyboard to my computer, midi to usb. I can get sound from it in other programs, but no luck in fruity loops. is there something i have to set up or some preferences i have to change?

Make sure you have your MIDI keyboard powered on before starting FL Studio and then check the MIDI settings page in FL Studio to make sure the controller is selected (probably "generic controller") and marked active.
