Hi everyone and thanks in advance. A while back I posted a question" is this a mother board problem" I got a lot of good suggestions, but I am still having problems. This is a Gateway G6-450 PII 450mhz using a TaborII Mobo. I am running Win98 and the problem that I am having is when I first boot up sometimes it hangs, and it is happening more and more. I will get the Gateway Logo and that is all. I thought that if I could hit the Tab key(for Gateway) to see it post, I could maybe tell where the problem might be. So to make myself understood, it hangs before it starts to post. I have taken out and reseated the processor and all of the memory modules. I also tried replacing the memory. I have cleared the Cmos and replaced the Bios battery. I have replaced the Ide cables. I have checked the power supply with my meter and all of the voltages that are supposed to be there are. Everyplug going to the Mobo has been pulled and reseated. I can tell that the HD is spinning. I don't really have a problem replacing the Mobo if that is it, I just don't want to spend the money and find out the problem is still there. I know that this is a little slow and old, but it probably has no more than about 300 hours on it. It was being used in my studio as a back up and now is just used for office work, so I am not heavy into graphics or gaming or music production with this machine anyway. Any help would sure be appreciated. Hope to here from someone soon!
