Quattro Heating up when on, dangerous?

Hello, I generally like to keep my Quattro on all the time. It really overheats, even when there is no audio flowing through it. Is this normal? Is it safe?

I would be cautious.
Does that have its own power supply, or is it USB powered? Does it malfunction when it's too hot? If so, think about a warranty repair.

It has its own power supply, is a USB connection, does not malfunction. I make sure to leave it off when I am not around. But it is still strange. BTW I got it used.

It sounds like a component going out. I have heard Quattros have a few issues. I haven't actually heard of them catching fire, but I have heard a few people on other bulletin boards complain about them.
