I just installed a brand new MOTU 2408 Mk III into a friend's DAW a few weeks ago, and it seems to be working fantastically thus far. He uses it not only to record and play directly thru the analog channels, but to be able to digitally xfer 8 tracks at once back and forth between his Tascam DA78 tape decks and the 2408 via the TDIF interfaces.

His PC is strictly, purely Intel... for compatibility and reliability sake. We even built the machine using a genuine Intel brand motherboard. It is an i850 chipset mobo (rambus memory, with 1GB ram installed), P4 2.0a GHz (Northwood) cpu, and a pair of Maxtor 7200rpm 60GB hard drives. Windows 2000 Pro is the operating system. We have seen absolutely no stability/performance/compatibility issues with this rig. It just simply works.

cheplonko,

I just picke up a 2408 Mk3, man it is rock solid. Coming from a troublesome system, this thing is great!
