I'm currently using a soundbastard live 5.1
card with a homemade midi breakout box
I'm looking at getting a decent soundcard - waveterminal 192L something in that price range.
Seeing as most of these cards in this price range don't seem to have enough if any midi connectivity - would I be able to run the SB live alongside the new card and use it for all the midi???
I would like to keep using my breakout box as it provides multiple outs. Are there any decent soundcards that have the same joystick output for midi instead of just a single in/out?

I'm using Sonar 2 on Athon 1800 with Windows 2000

Mot I just picked up a sblive pci 5.1 BECAUSE the m-audio 2496 won't do midi stuff , after quite a bit of screwin around all seems well.
I am not sure of what you are running on the cpu side, but may suggest looking at the m-audio 2496, It's a real pain in the ass to set up, and the software is meaningless, BUT the card sounds tight, is relatively cheap, and pretty stable, (I plug in and out alot of stuff while the system is runnin, and hardly a pop).
The card in the U.S> is runnin about 150 bucks, I use a 12 channel digital mixer (behringer ub1835fx cost 200 bucks) with both cards in dedicated channel line 'ins'. I guess my setup would be your 'street studio' but so far so good, hang loose as I am sure there will be others to also suggest different or better configs.
Good luck Bobbabouie
