Hi,

Im looking into getting an Emu 1212m sound card but I'm trying to keep the whole chain balanced.

All my equipment accepts a balanced signal.

Focusrite trackmaster pro platinum
Alesis M1Active 520 monitors

But on the focusrite there is a single output for +4db (balanced) but two inputs into the emu 1212m - Left and right. What lead/cable should i use to keep the signal balanced and where do i plug them in?

Thanks in advance

Just use a TRS jack-jack cable and hook your focusrite up on either the left or right input. You have to create a mono track and select the left input in your host sequencer to record something from your focusrite.

ah i see, thanks. So I assume i could do another chain going into the other output and record both for stereo miking etc.

Thanks for the help, just wanted to be sure before i purchased!

cheers :)
