Hi All,
Thanks for the great forum here. I recently purchased a FireWire 410 and was plagued with static. A little searching on the boards brought me to the solution, which was to purchase the TI FireWire card from NewEgg. I received and installed it yesterday and was actually able to get decent Telecaster sounds onto my PC.
Now I just need to figure out all of the associated software that's out there. I have Audacity (since I moved to Vista), Reaper (just installed), and have downloaded M-Powered ProTools 7.4 demo.
I'm new to the DAW scene as far as recording instruments but have been a Cool Edit Pro user until I upgraded (?) to Vista. I basically recorded radio programs and edited out commercials to make my own mixes. Nothing too spectacular, but I sort of have my "feet wet" at least.
I've already bookmarked a bunch of sites that were referenced here on recording basics and you now have a tab in my browser!
Thanks Again,
Timmer
