I have a MSI 848 Neo-V mother board. I think it has a non power audio output. So my speakers are powered and the volume and sound is ok. I wanted to be able to use headset to listen to music or a movie and not bother others. So I modified the speakers with a 1/8" jack. So when I plug in the headset the speaker disconnects and the audio goes to the headset. When I plug in me head set I can hear a hum/buzzing type of sound. If I move the mouse the sound changes. If I scroll the mouse wheel the sound changes. And I think I heard a sound from the hard drive too. You know the sound of the hard drive heads really high sound running back and forth. The mother board manual does not say anything about Ohm's and resistance on the output jack or audio cable needed. Any suggestions how to stop the hum/buzz?
