View Full Version : edirol UA-20
Any experience with the edirol UA-20, how does it work? Latency and so on. Which is the AD/DA converter it uses?
thanks
Hi! No answers.... so I am replying to myself.
The UA-20 it is not too bad, low latency teorically down to 2 msec with a quick processor. It is working well at 5 msec with not too much softsynths and plugins and no pops. I still didn't have check the inputs with keys mics and guitar to understand the quality of the preamp. Midi in out built in is working well.
thanks to myself

Congrats usul. I've had my UA-5 for over a year now and haven't had a single problem. In fact I have it on a USB switch between two computers on a KVM box. It's seamless!
Hi Joe, do you have any idea of the AD/DA converters type used in ediroll stuff (UA-5 and UA-20)?
By the way I have seen your post about the M-port... I have a STAudio system III (the M-port father) and I am very happy with it, if you need more specific comments write to me directly.

usul, looks like Crystal CS8420 ADC, and AKM AK4524VF DAC for the UA-5. I'm not sure about the UA-20.
If someone is interested the AD/DA converter in the edirol UA-20 is the AK4524vf (I have just opened the box). With this evidence the UA-20 sould be capable to go up to 96 KHz like the UA-5, it is only a driver issue.
