I will be building my first DAW soon. I have spent a lot of time on the web researching various soundcards and have narrowed the field to the following:
ST Audio C-port
M-Audio Delta 1010
MOTU 2408 MKIII
Edirol DA2496
Aardvark Q10
I would appreciate any comments you folks have pro or con on any of these cards.
Thanks

HI UNWIRED,give some more info as to what do you want to do exactly.like, inputs, mixers or not, what type of production etc.,budjet etc..
BECAUSE,souncards these days could or could not give you the benefits depending on what your setups' expectations are.

Diminished, thanks for responding.
Most of the time I will be building a song one track at a time; however, I will also be recording a full band from time to time. Most audio will be miked, in some cases I might feed a direct guitar or bass feed. I don't presently plan on MIDI but want the flexibility to do that later. My thought process was to buy a good soundcard that had more features (I/O) than I needed, since I felt I would eventually wish I had it.
I haven't set an overall budget yet. I will build the computer myself and I have some good parts (monitors, video cards, hard drives) available that will keep the price down. I had planned on spending less than $900 on the soundcard.
Thanks again.
