Hi,

Let me start by admitting to being a complete newbie to recording audio on a pc.

With that out of the way, here's what I was hoping someone could help me out with:

I'm planning to convert my LP collection to CD, and for this purpose I intend to purchase a new soundcard. Although I have found many sites describing to me what I have to do to get audio off of an LP and on to my harddisk, none of them offer any advise as to which hardware would be most suitable for this purpose. So I guess my questions to you are the following:

* What specifications of a soundcard determine the quality of a recording off of an LP?

* Are there any reviews or comparisons of soundscards available which focus only on the quality of the soundcard with respect to LP recordings?

* Where else should I look (or should I have looked) to find the answers to above questions?

Thanks

Terratec DMX 6Fire has a nice PHONO input chinchs and let you record audio from LPs directly to your harddrive

I recorded some of my LPs into computer, the sound was great.

Great is that you connect your turntable direct to phono on you sound card and you are ready to record.

Along with card you also get a Sound Laundry application that alows you to remove any noise that scratched LP would generate and so on. It work perfectly.

And sound card is arround 250$.
