hello
i'm new to this forum and i have a question that would help a great deal if answered sometime soon

i recently started djing and my piss poor speakers and amp blew out, not my fault. they were blown out before and they just decided not to work one day, i know how to at least drive the amp and speakers properly.

anyways, i'm on a budget as mention and would be willing to take any advice on what amp and speakers i should buy just for basement/bedroom use, i would however still like them to be rather powerful and reliable, like i mentioned before i know not to destroy them, the prior speakers and amp were garbage anyways so i just drove them to the max for about a total of 2 hours before they just gave way, i know not to do that with my new speakers

i did some research, but it was rather difficult to narrow down any possibilities for my particular situation

anyways, my budget is around 500 dollars
just an amp and 2 speakers are what i need

thanks for any help

Welcome to the audioforums cantalope. Sorry to hear about your gear, hope you get something new that works for you and is dependable. Behringer makes speakers and amps, also active speakers that have built in amps and our band uses a couple of the 18" subs that sound decent, you might want to check out these...just a little over your budget.

they'll rock your basemen or a gig on the weekend, plus you could always add some 18" sub woofers down the road. Good luck

i would also check out samson , american audio by amercican dj ,
and M audio

Maudio makes some nice powered speakers they are extremely portable
you also should check your local music stores for used gear and sweetwater has some good deals as well
