Running a Mac Blue & White G3, 400mhz, system 9.1, 384MB RAM with a Korg 1212 sound card.

My problem is in setting up Logic Audio Silver v.5.3.0 and specifying an audio driver in the program. The manual states that the Korg 1212 is only supported in Logic Gold or Platinum, so I know Logic Audio doesn't support the 8 inputs from the 1212, BUT the guy at Sam Ash in NYC who sold me the program assured me the Korg 1212 WILL work with this version (Silver), but I'll only be able to record 2 tracks in simultaneously. This is fine, 2 tracks in is all I need.

When launching the program (LA Silver) for the first time, I try to specify a driver of the 7 listed in the setup window:
Mac AV
DAE
VS
Audiowerk
Direct I/O
ASIO
EASI

None of them work. The 1212 I/O driver is not offered. The closest I've come is when I try to specify Mac AV, the system crashes either at the specifying stage or when I re-launch the program (it freezes when it tries to load Mac AV).

Been using the Korg 1212 card with Bias Deck for years, so I know it works. The driver for the Korg 1212 (v1.3.1) is in the system folder, and all associated software is installed correctly.

What gives? Was the tech at Sam Ash wrong? Can I use the 1212 for stereo input with Logic Audio (Silver)? Or do I have to upgrade to Gold, killing the whole point of this great Big Box value package.

It turns out there is a beta ASIO driver available from Korg for the Korg 1212 I/O deep in the bowels of their website:
http://www.korg.com/1212faq/1212_downloads.htm

THE FIX:
Install it, drop it in the ASIO Driver folder in Logic's folder, trash Logic's preference file, relaunch the program, specify ASIO as the driver, and voila, two audio/in channels.

Just though I'd post the solution in case anyone else out there has the same problem.
