I wrestled with this one a bit. Here's what it boils down to...
As you may have noticed, new thread creation in this forum is disabled. You can reply to existing threads, but not create new ones.
This forum is for frequently asked questions. If you don't see your question addressed here, it's probably not a frequently asked question. It seems that a large number of people naturally assume that their questions are frequently asked, so they try to post them here, where they assume they'll get the most attention. But if your question hasn't already been asked, it's not really a frequently asked question, and therefore does not belong in the frequently asked questions forum.
Fear not, though; we have THIRTY other forums dedicated to every conceivable audio topic. (No lie - there's thirty of them. Go count if you like.)
So find the forum that best fits your query, and post it there. If you feel it really deserves a spot here in the FAQ forum, send me a private message and I'll take a look at it. Be sure to point out where others have asked the same question. (This is the very essence of that word I keep italicizing - "frequently".)
Not sure which forum to post in? Here's some suggestions...
Try the Studio Gear (http://www.audioforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12) forum if your question is studio related.
Or the Front of House (http://www.audioforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=37) forum if you are asking about live sound.
If you have questions about audio on your Windows-based PC, the PC OS (http://www.audioforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=7) and Windows Vista (http://www.audioforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=7) forums are here to help you out.
And if you have questions about a specific piece of gear, see if a manufacturer-specific (http://www.audioforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=5) forum exists that might help you out. In particular, the M-Audio (http://www.audioforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=39) and Fruity Loops (http://www.audioforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=32) forums are especially popular.
