Windows 2000 software installation issues.

Has anyone experienced software installation problems with Windows 2000 where it hangs and refuses to finish an installation? It's happening to me with software that I've successfully installed before. I've noticed a pattern too. Both programs (ACID 3.0 and Corel Draw 10) both choke when the installer is "registering modules". I have no Idea what this means nor do I have any idea how to fix it. All I know is that it's a pain in my ass and need go away.

If anyone has ANY insite about this. please share.

I figured it out. I have to shut down Aardvark's soundcard manager program from services before installing.
