Hi there. I have a BRAND NEW projectmix. It's 2 weeks old. I'm using a Mac G5 running OS10.4.9
Starting about 30 minutes ago, when I turn on the unit no LEDs come on, my computer won't recognize it, and it just ticks. Like a 200bpm ticking that comes directly through my speakers, not through my computer.
Any ideas other than phone M Audio? I restarted computer, had the projectmix control running, everything, but the damn thing won't even turn on now!! Just the tick.
Anyone?

If it will not power up, then you need to contact tech support. It sounds to me like an out-of-box defect.

well I plugged it into a new power bar and it worked again. Then it did it again about 1 hour later but then it corrected itself.
This is REALLY sketching me out about the product. This is a replacement product from my previous projectmix which just up and died on me (all LEDs stayed lit, computer would not recognize, transport buttons flashed wildly) after about 7 months of use.

It still seems problematic to me. Call tech support and explain this whole situation. We actually see veryfew problems with the ProjectMix, so it sounds as though you've just come across some bad luck.

I say power supply, it happened to me, they cost about 35 quid (GBP). Put your ear up to the power supply and see if the ticking gets louder, a new one sorted mine out.
EDIT: Just noticed you said that the ticking comes through your speakers. Try turning off the speakers and listening to the power supply. Does the green light on the power supply stay lit when you turn the PMix on?

Yeah, like Chrispy said, check the power supply. Does the LED blink or turn off when the project mix is on? My friend had that happen, turns out it was just a defective power supply.
