Reduced the size of my original workstation and centered it in the room.
Built a new 24 space mobile rack and monitor stands.:D
Made some 2" 2X4 Acoustic Panels from Owens-Corning 703 and placed them on keyboard wall.
And, of course, added the requisite Lava Lamp.

your really organized..
cool...
you should record your noise floor and post it.
lol
i say that as kind of a joke but it gave me an idea,
lets all record 30 seconds of our noise floors, and take an impuilse response of our space then post them.

how big is your space?
Unfortunately it's only 11 X 11.
There may be a chance to add a tracking room that is about 13 X 11 but for now that is just a possibility.

nice mic collection... I like buying the rails and making my own racks too, good stuff homestudioguy, we know where all your extra cash goes lol. Looks like you really like the trombone, is this your main instrument? Hope you get the extra space, I have 16 X 20 for mix and it seems small, but I have a 12 X 16 drum room and a 5X7 vocal booth, added space really helps with ambience, nice studio!!...lava lamp, o'yeah. 87'

Thanks, sorry for the delay.
For whatever reason I'm not getting notified of responses.
I have 2 Focusrite TrakMaster Pro Channel Strips, a 2 channel ART GOLD MPA tube Pre and 8 channels of straight Focusrite on the Focusrite Pro 10.

Again sorry for delay.

Tanks for the mic collection comments.
sE Electronics makes some nice mics, especially for the money.
As far as the trombone?
Been playing trombone since 1963.
My trombone is a Bach Stradivarius 42B LTG.
Played t-bone professionally for 10 years doing Ice Shows, Circuses, Big Band Work, some recording work, Brass ensemble stuff and a ton of orchestral work.
I compose on guitars though.
Thanks,
B

I really know how to spit!!!:D Got paid well for it too;)
Again, Sorry for delay in response. Not getting e-mailed when getting responses from y'all.
My trombone has what is called an F-attachment which is the extra tubing and the rotory valve. Primarily when I open the tubing it allows me to play notes that are way out in the 5th, 6th and 7th positions closer in so I dont have to stretch so much and I can play things a bit faster and more precise.
The majority of my professional t-bone work was "legit" so having a big bore orchestral trombone with the F-attachment was the best choice for me as opposed to a "pea shooter" small bore jazz trombone.
Get your trumpet/horn fixed if you can. You just might find away to add another texture somehow to your music :)

Yes, I did come up with a final design for the stand.
It's a "Patent Applied For" kind of thing.
Here is link: http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PG01&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsrchnum.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=%2220040238700%22.PGNR.&OS=DN/20040238700&RS=DN/20040238700
I had conversations with 2 well known rack manufacturers about using the idea, one wanted to use the idea for free and the other thought is was a good idea but never followed through.
Too expensive for me to have them built in small numbers. Would cost me about $20 apiece to be manufactured locally.

it certainly is cool to apply for a patent, is this an expensive process? I couldn't get the drawings up...so I can't comment, but $20 a piece for manufacturing doesn't seem that high for a rack stand....those 2 rail racks cost that much and they are cheap to make at home, all they afford is the angeled bottom stand feature....good luck hsg!

The patent applied for was for a stand for Tube MP type units.
The unit brings them up to a 45 degree angle.
Patents can be expensive.
That's what stopped me although I did get pretty darn far into it before I had to stop. Although not actually being forced to hire a patent attorney, the patent reviewer (who was incredibly helpful to me) brought up issue of a foreign patent design (for a speaker stand) that needed one and that would have been at least $1000.
My Patent search firm charged me about $500 and did a great job.
Lots of time, it takes, in any event.

Weezul!
You've got a nice start going from what I see.
I started with a 4-track multi-track cassette and a cheap Audio-Technica dynamic mic.
Take your time when adding to your studio and make well researched equipment purchases.
Right off the bat I'd say add some acoustic panels to your room as it looks rather lively. You can make them rather inexpensively.

Also spend some time reading about room acoustics!!!!

excellent, thanks for taking the time :) im reading about acoustic treatment, and it does seem like it would help me clear up my mixes.. its all pretty deep though haha! brilliant info though. Im tempted to get some fiberglass panels and because the bass seems very unclear in this new room, probaly due to the laminate floor and the sub being on the floor, its tempting to look into those bass traps.. Anyways all of this is pointless if im still mixing through bog standard dell 2.1s :P
