seriously jonesed....need my studio back! Youngest son and girlfriend moved in May 21st, stored all her apartment stuff in my studio (yep, i agreed) but now its been two weeks, can't even walk around in there, had to rack alot of equipment to keep it safe. They are moving to Penns July 2nd, ...an I hate to see 'em go, but at same time would like to be able to actually sit at my console (its boxed) and do something. It will take me 2 weeks to set things back up...but its for my youngest and I'll help them out any way I can. :)
So...please tell me all about your gigs, how the sessions are coming out, anything to do about recording studio...making changes, I need a fix bros.
Thanks

uhmmmm... lets see - tomorrow I start post for an indy film. I am up to track 15 for my underscore library. I have a theme gig for a new radio show - about two minutes of music to score.
You must be a nice dad - i have a rule - once you check out, you can never check back in (unless you sign a lease agreement ;) )

Last year, I think before Audiodude took over I had a thread on there about bedoing my drum room floor, with the wood slat inlay...great things come to those who wait. What with the studio being "closed" my sweet wife has agreed to a new floor in the live room (once it is cleared out) its only a 12X16playing space mostly for the guitar players to stand, and is now carpeted with 30 year old carpeting we drug out of my aunts living room LOL (not funny) so guys after July 2nd sometime I have a new project.
Question is, should I do the live room in wood slatting or put down a tile floor....its pretty dead right now, plus Aurelex absorption behind amp areas.
Any suggestions, new ideas?

I just got the final go ahead yesterday and am waiting for the deposit to it the bank. They have not given me the specs yet. In prelim talk they want a 30 second intro, upbeat yet soothing - think Enya; two 10 second stingers, 1 a variation of the theme the other something "jazzy", and then a 20 second tail for the end of the show again a variation of the theme.

sorry DC never heard Enya, is this kind of like space-synth type stuff, vocal over laid? mood music, sorry for sounding stupid
So do you get the theme after the check clears :D This sort of studio work sounds interesting and of course would take alot of imagination. What are stingers used for exactly, fill space? thanks

You've heard Enya, everybody has heard Enya (this one especially (http://www.amazon.com/gp/music/wma-pop-up/B000002NJH001001/ref=mu_sam_wma_001_001/105-2107638-5827630) WMV From Amazon), TV, Movies, Commercials. New Age, heavy pads, strings, soft multilayered vocal.
Stingers in this case are used in between commercials. It is interesting work, but more importantly it pays very well. :D

spam....we be rockin' once again. Its nice to get the space back, my youngest son drove a 26' Uhaul and pulled a car, first time for him, they are now in Pittsburg area a town called Elrama (i think spl?) have moved into her ol' family house 3 stories no less (I am green haha) he plays drums and acoustic guitar, her uncle gave him an amp and guitar when they got there, he is jazzed. I'm sorry to report I wouldn't let him take my amp & guitar ;) with him. I did give him a couple floor monitors to start build a PA.
Needless to say I am proud of him, and his self esteem has blossomed!!!:)

had to update this thread...I am still in process of wiring it back up, got it all mostly done, did a few new things, and now going to run mic wiring (xlr cables). Hooking comp back up will be last in line, probably this coming week the studio will be completely operational again..sure takes alot longer to put it all back together than it did to take it apart....whew, got tunes
