Hi folks,
After reading all the posting about the new drivers i still havenīt found a straight answer whether the new drivers work or not.So should i switch my Win ME os for XP and install the new drivers or not? I took my 24/96 to a friend who tested it with a new PC with Win XP and we couldnīt get it to work properly. The whole system runned slow and quite unstable. But then again i read that some users are quite happy with the new drivers. I would stick to Win ME but i donīt trust it 100% since it ruinned a couple of projects for me!
Thanks guys any comments will be appreciated.

works well for me...and unlike some other people's posts, I have nothing but praise for tech support at Aardvark...when I got their 2496, I was prety dismayed that nothing worked (long time tape guy here). Thru emails they walked me thru the process of loading their drivers, tweaking the DSP effects, etc...

Maybe it did take them a while to get the XP drivers out, but they made sure the were right (in my case) before throwing them out them knowing there was trouble...

They're not perfect by any means (at least with the Aark Q10 anyways). If you use Winamp, Meadia Player etc. to compare mixes or whatever, then you can expect to wait a couple of minutes after clicking on the file until actual playback! That's a problem IMO. Otherwise, the driver seems to work ok.
Good luck!

Yea, I've noticed the long delay in playback through media player. What's the deal? Does anyone know of another player that doesn't behave this way?

What output plug-in are you guys using in winamp? waveout?

both wave or direct sound are working with my DP 24/96, but i suspect direct sound is better.

Sometimes when I boot (about 1 in 10 boots), the desktop comes up and the mouse pointer flickers and glitches. The computer is almost frozen and super slow (I cant navigate at all). No audio will go through my Aardvark (which leads me to believe its an Aardvark problem). I hit the reset button and it usually reboots fine. Does anyone else have this problem?

It's not a "biggie" but...

When my Aardvark Q10 software is selected for system audio playback, and I try to play a playlist of mp3 files in MusicMatch Jukebox, that software hangs after the first song is finished. MusicMatch works with my 3 other sound cards (Audiophile, Santa Cruz, and Audigy). I usually only have the Audiophile, SC and Aardvark Direct Pro in the box at one time.

Aardvark has acknowledged this bug.

A work-around is easy, I just select the Audiophile 24/96 or Santa Cruz for playing mp3s when using MusicMatch Jukebox.

But, I do think it means the drivers aren't exactly "mature" at this point! Clearly, my other 3 sound cards get along with Win XP and Jukebox and Aardvard XP drivers do not. This might be indicative of possible problems with other software programs.

On the up side, I have not had any problems (yet?) with Q10 recording, just XP system audio.

Yes, I think the same. But I'm sure aardvark will polish these drivers soon now that they are more than half way trough.

Cakewalk homesite now gives OK on A/WDM Drivers! Looking to buy a Q 10 myself and was just waiting to see if Cakewalk approved. They are not wdm, but they work the same. As long as I can get 1.5 to 3 ms latency you can call them clone driver wdm! If you look on the site under hardware they now have them under the Aardvak cards. Finally.

I also have a P4 box running XP pro with the Q10. Could you post some of your settings or tweaks for getting all 8 inputs to track without any problems? thanks. Someone should start a thread...maybe me, that has system specs and performance hints for the Q10.
