I don't believe he did and I'm still unclear as to what his issue really was. The problem he encountered made little sense as a hardware fault, I saw it as more of a settings/software issue, but I could be wrong. As we left it, I got the feeling that an hardware exchange was his decision on that next step to take.
However, that's a good question....How long does a prize remain to the winner unclaimed?

How long does a prize remain to the winner unclaimed?
i personally dont think it should be more than 2 weeks.

Since the drawing is based on the participation for the month, I'd give it 30 days then either give it to the runner-up(if one is chosen at the time of drawing) or choose a new winner from the eligabile forumites.

I Know, I Know~!
Put all unclamed prizes in a big "Unclaimed Prize Box" then at the end of the year draw a name out of the hat for a chance to win the contents of the "Unclaimed Prize Box"

Sorry to disappoint everybody, but Oretez did actually claim the prize yesterday. There's always next month.
And remember, you now have the ability to slant the odds in your favor. Just come back and post often to increase your chances of winning.

05-19-2007, 08:44 AM
well that explains it . . . no one was more surprised then I when I got the call
I had thought you had to enter, answer some questions to participate & pretty much didn't pay attention
when we split up gear from commercial operation 5-6 yrs ago I left a pair of 32's as a pair in exchange for a C414 don't regret decision but I used (and will use) the KSM32 a lot . . . it is another pretty decent workhorse mic and over the years have used one on pretty much everything but kick drum (and snare)
not surprisingly this forum has suddenly become a lot more interesting!
saymon

Oh so I see you're an experienced user of mic's and other stuff..
I am the beginner when it comes to recording as what i do everyday is playing drums (not recording them) but since we (my band) decided to record our new EP by ourselves, we've been learning a lot about recording hardware and software. For the time being we've got only two shure mics (sm57 and sm58), fasttrack maudio, motu ultra lite and that's it.. huh :) We had to record my drums in the studio but this ksm32 would do well while recording the guitars.. i think. huh.. nevermind as I said before - I hope you will make use of it and my luck will return to me some day.. maybe I'll live longer or sth...
I also wonder.. if they would have sent the mic to me when they would have realized that I live outside US :)
saymon
05-20-2007, 05:31 AM
And the mystery is solved - the winners have to be legal citizens of the US. I am neither a legal citizen of US nor I have ever lived there :)
Cheers :)
Why don't you organize a drawing for EU citizens?:)
Audiodude
05-21-2007, 08:06 AM
We're a US-based company with no business presence (other than websites) in other countries, so that would be very murky legal water to be in. Plus, we're only US dealers for many of the brands we carry, and they have other distribution arrangements overseas.

Oh just give him one for petes sake, I think the whole Idea has merit, but is probably more trouble than it's worth, perhaps all winnings should go to save the music fund, or a bonified musical charity of the winners choice.
saymon
05-22-2007, 05:03 PM
That would involve even more trouble and probably more paperwork.. no to mention taxes.. Do you pay taxes for acts of charity (donating money etc.) in US? We do in EU..
I think the idea and the campaing the sweetwater is running here isn't that bad. Even though none of similar things are done in my country, I think it would be obvious that a shop that provides the 'awards' would not agree to send them abroad.. It would be a complicated process to do such things - legally .. let alone entrace duties..
But.. thank you Bops2000! :)

We do in EU.
No we don't. If you're a (UK at least) taxpayer and donate any amount of money, you can declare that (scheme called Gift Aid), and the tax you paid to earn that money gets redonated to the charity.
saymon
05-23-2007, 03:51 AM
Sorry for misleading you then..
I live in Poland :/ Here we're obliged to pay tax even for a charity mobile messages or for giving food to homeless people. Not so long time ago a baker lost his lost his bakery due to not paying taxes for giving unsold remains of bread to the homeless. Sorry for the offtopic..
poorsod
05-23-2007, 03:56 AM
That's wierd. We only ever pay taxes where money is changing hands, and personal gifts and charities are exempt.
saymon
05-23-2007, 04:06 AM
Poland itself is wierd. Haven't you ever wondered why there are so many Poles in you country? :)

Fewer than the Mail would have you believe. I only personally know one Pole. ;)

Fewer than the Mail would have you believe. I only personally know one Pole. ;)
And I personally know around 50 Poles who emigrated to UK and twice as much who went to Ireland :) Most of them don't speak English at all and thus live in closed communities- maybe that's the reason you know only one of them ;)

This (http://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/) can't be normal, can it?
saymon
06-01-2007, 09:50 AM
Yes, I know about that. They've been talking about it on television all the time. Pretty wierd thing but I think it's not that the Dutch are strange... it is the show-business. Nevertheless, they have gone a few steps too far with that idea... Bizzare... :/
