I read about someone who found 64bit drivers that work for Audiophile 192 in Windows Vista; is there drivers that work for 32bit. My driver type is MME/Direct X. Any advice is appreciated.

OK the way I understand it. And not from experience MME is the worse driver you can use and also Vista rewrote it wdm driver so I'm not sure if direct x is even supported any longer. If its a Vista driver then I don't think Direct X will be included. Verify what I'm saying I could be wrong.

I'm not exactly sure either. My friend puterdoc maxed what my motherboard would support. It's actually my first computer. It's emachine T3418, it has 2 gb ddr ram it has the onboard 160gb harddrive & a SATA 7200 perpendicular 400gb drive; it has a audiophile 192 4in/4out; a geforce 7600 gt ko. My 160gb harddrive (vista)runs my games and my 400gb(XP)runs my audio recording. It all works except I can't disable the onboard sound because vista drivers aren't available for M-Audio Audiophile 192 soundcard. This is my dilema.

Well there is some good news and some bad news. The bad news is m-audio does not have drivers for it. Now for the good news m-audio has been said to be releasing drivers for it shortly when exactly I don't know. since your computer runs vista it should be fine. Also you can simply disable the on board sound card either by going into the control center and device manager and right clicking then hit disable. If its a on board or Incorporated in the mobo you can also disable it from the bios. The next question is what recording soft ware do you use?

Awesome! Let me know when the drivers come out. I have Live 5.2 and Adobe
Audition 1.5. I would disable the onboard sound card if it didn't effect my gaming harddrive(vista). I guess I'll have to get this device that switches between drivers so I don't have to keep plugging and unplugging the speakers in the back until the vista drivers are available. There is a person on this forum that got drivers to work for his Audiphile 192 & 64bit motherboard with vista, but they never got back to me if there was 32bit drivers that work with vista. Thanks for getting back to me so promptly. I have been writing and been in many bands; I can't stop now. Thanks for your help.

Hey have you simply just tried to install the drivers any ways. If you are running vista 32. And it turns out to work. Disable your on board sound card and use the m-audio instead. Make it your primary sound card. I have a firebox and it works just fine under vista 32 with no updated drivers. When you do, this may happen. 1. it will ask if you want to load it, just keep saying yes. It may fail don't give up wait a Little it may come back and ask if you want to load it with the recommended settings. then say yes. Then plug the unit in, it will see it then. Next the little speaker icon on the right lower corner right click on that and set the m-audio as your primary. Then you can disable the on board SC. You may have to restart your computer
PS; Use the most updated drivers from m-audio instead of whats on the supplied disk. down load it, hit run then follow the above mentioned.
Happy hunting
