This thing has everything in an interface that I need. Whats the catch I found it for $495.00. Aardvark Q-10 825.00, Edirol DA 2495 is 560.00. multiface plus card 925.00.If you haven't checked this out then do so. If you have please give your feedback. www.esi-pro.com (http://www.esi-pro.com) and go to the wamirack 192x this is the newest one with bal. ins and outs.

where did you find it for $495? that's a deal!
it's a cool piece - it doesn't have the flexibility that the multiface has, but it's certainly worth it for the money. i know several people that have these and they all like them.
i don't have alot of first hand experience with it, as i'm a mac guy...

You might be interested that all the 192 range from ESI should be getting MAC drivers early next year. The PC drivers are easily the most advanced drivers when compared to any other pro audio brand of card.
Also because they are using the latest AKM converters in the 192X range they sound much better than other brands which are still using the older and lower end model AKM's
As for why they are priced so low for the quality and features thats because...
1. They have all their own hardware and software developers, so no paying expensive 3rd party designers.
2. Made in Korea where labour is cheap and the quality control is very high. The government is helping factories out with land to encourage export growth.
3. ESI make a lot of products for other companies. Called OEM.
Theres also heaps of other factors which allow some companies to provide higher quality products at lower prices.

I was going to get the 192X. Then I read the press release on the MAXIO from Egosys. Check this out: http://aes.harmony-central.com/113AES/Content/EGO_SYS/PR/MAXIO-XD.html

So, it`s like the 192x with 8 analog inputs?
Or is there something else?
