Hi to all,
Hope kind soul can help. I'm just getting back into home recording. I need some advice on the best way to go about all things digital. I used to have a 24trk tape set up and so am reasonably happy with multi-tracking, effects returns etc., etc.,. My grand plan is to mainly record demos of the folk, rock and punk bands I play with.
My PC is set up with Via chipset, Athlon XP 2000+, 512mb dram, 17gb h/d @5200rpm, 60gb hd @ 7200 (on a raid drive), fast cdw and cd, ge-force 64mb agp card. O/s is winXP home (although this is changable). I also have a 12ch mixer with phantom power, power amp(s), PA,monitors, mics, headphones etc.
What I need to know is how, for a budget of approx £200 (US$320), is what sound card to buy and how in the hell to put it all together!!! Iwould like to multi-track (say live drums)with as much seperation as possible. Anyway, I'm sure you get the general picture,
I would greatly appreciate any input, comments, suggestions etc.
