512 ram with PIII 750????

A computer specalist told that would be almost the same to put 512 mb than 256 mb in my P III 750, Have anyone heard something like that?. He told that because is only 750, the capacitie procesor only will use until 256 Mb.

don't seem right to me that. Ram is utilised by the OS, not the chip.

I agree with Erik,..I'm getting the full benefit of a 512 stick in my PIII 550.

He was probably referring to Windows. If you are using Windows 98 or ME, they do not make make as good use of the extra memory like 2000 or XP would because of the bad memory managment in those DOS based OS's.
