Hello everybody.

I am new here, and have a simple question.

I have read through some of the relevant posts, but still feel I would like to ask this:

I need to know what is a proper sound editing tool that will allow easy multi track mixing.

Sound Forge's technical stuff is great - we use the noise filters a lot, and the DC offser as example, but I need something where you can easily blend multiple audio tracks - drag and drop like interface - almost like in Vegas. It seems like sound forge does not allow for this.

Unfortunatly I have quite a slow line, so downloading all the relevant trial software and testing them is not such a viable option for me.

I have been looking at this review: any good? http://audio-editing-software-review.toptenreviews.com/

Your help will be gratly appreciated!

Kind Regards

do a search for Reaper.

ACID has audio multitracking with drag-n-drop capabilities, and it set up very similarly to Sound Forge, since Sony produces both. It may be easier for you to stay with a GUI you already kinda know.

Reaper is free. If you're only mixing audio signals it's got everything you need.

If you have Sound Forge you could edit your audio files there and import them in Reaper.

REAPER will do midi as well, just for many not up to par with cubase or sonar...for audio though its a heavyweight

And, ACID's inline MIDI editing is VERY sensible for people like me who aren at all good with midi

ACID's inline midi is a thing of beauty IMHO
