In the Musicians Friend catalog, they have a "Recording Software" product list, opposed to a "Sequencing & Remix Software" product list. What IS "sequencing"? Is "sequencing" related to MIDI only ? These "sequencing" products can straight record also? What can't a "Recording" product do that a "Sequencer" can, AND is "sequencing" even needed for recording bands that don't use MIDI, etc.?
Thanks

Generally, sequencing means multiple audio and/or midi tracks.
Recording can be simple mono or 2-channel recording.
But nothing is set in stone, it's just a category....

Most people tend to associate sequencing with MIDI and recording with audio. Technically speaking, sequencing involves arranging notes/files/clips within a project of some sort, and recording involves capturing a live performance of either MIDI, audio or video.
But again, nothing is set in stone. The two tend to be used interchangably.
