Hi, I've been building pc's now for many years, and now I'd like to rip all my music cd's to a hard drive and get rid of my 400 disc player, Sony CDP-M555es (I won't be converting them to mp3's, though, just basically copying).
I've pretty much figured everything out except for the graphical user interface (GUI). Currently, I just look at the display on the 400-disc player to see what disc is playing. So, in a pc, how do you set up something similar?
I've seen the HTPC cases with a similar display (they call it a VFD), but how do you get that to display the music resident on the hard drive? Or, do I need a little screen/monitor? I'd rather not have extra parts hanging off of the pc, though.
