Should be quite simple......then again....could be quite difficult.:o You should just be able to hook up your keyboard once the MIDI interface has been installed. In Reason, you will be able to go into the preferences and select MIDI and there should be a drop down with your MIDI interface as an option. If it doesn't work, let me know.

Take care,

Eddie;)

You will not have the Yamaha as an option under the MIDI preferences, you will have the MIDI interface as an option. Do you have that? Does your MIDI interface have a light or something that tells you that it's connected to your PC?

In the drop down menu in reason is there a general midi option if so select that for starter. Now i don't know anything about reason. but see if it has midi learn function if it does follow the instructions. Now remember midi is not audio. it is just a set of instructions being set to your daw software IE reason. you have to assign a vst or some sort in order to get any sound out. it should be in your instruction manual or pdf file.

My bust about the vst. It doesn't matter at this point. you are at this point trying to learn how to set it up. After that you can assign anything. Read your Manuel. Like i said I'm not familiar with reason. also check out this forum

If you have the MIDI interface selected in your MIDI preferences than your MIDI is working. Now you need to go through the motions with your individual modules. For example, create a subtractor and down in your sequencer where it lists the modules on the left, click to the far left hand side of the module. This should give you a small MIDI icon next to the module. When this icon is assigned then the MIDI information will be assigned and you can control that module. If this doesnt work, then I am not sure. You really do need to read the manual a little bit. I've owned and used Reason for 4 years now and I am still finding out new things in the manual.
