Midiman midisport8x8 firmware uograde?

Does anyone knw where to get the firmware upgrade forthe midisport 8x8/s? and if so how would I go about loading it into the device?

Just get the latest driver and the update the current set you have.

The firmware is loaded on the startup of windows. When the Midisport driver loads it check the firmware number of the device and if it is not match the currnet firmware version the loader update the firmware.

But when you turn off the computer the frimware get lost in memory. But, The next time you load the driver the firmware gets updated again. Its called a soft firmware update.

Is that a good enough explaination. I had the same question as you have but, i waited on hold to get my answer.

Hallo Midisport8x8 Users!
Problems using Midisport8x8 with driver version 1.15 in Win XP.

It was impossible for me to install this driver in Win XP. The German Midiman support told me that I've to look at the firmware version of the midisport8x8 with the remote control software, to asure that the firmware version is at least 1.33! I've had firmware version 1.05 which is not compatible with driver version 1.15, only up to version 1.14.

They have sent me two firmware IC's (EPROMS) version 1.33. I've changed the EPROMS in the midisport8x8, which wasn't a big deal. You have to be careful removing the existing ones from the mainboard, because the are sitting very strong in their sockets. It is recommended to use a special tool for it something like a plastic tongs.

After the hardware update it was possible to install driver version 1.15 in WIN XP with a great improvement of stability within Sonar 2.

hello,
just wondering how you folks made out with the new drivers for Win XP. also has anyone used the edirol um 880. i'm looking to buy either the midiman 8x8 or the edirol unit to use with Win XP.
any input would be greatly appreciated.
