After owing a mpc for years i recently switched to the korg padkontrol. Heres my thoughs on the item.

First off the look of this midi controller is stunning, nice clear lcd and all pads and buttons are clearly labeled. The interface is easy to get around. Everything is laid out in a simple way where even if this is your first midi controller you will have a firm grasp on its features in minuets. The pads are full sensored meaning there is a square sensor under the pad so no matter where you touch them it responds, and it responds well. Thepads are very soft and have a great feel. It is designed for drums but is easily at home looping samples or playing chops from sounds such as pianos or strings. With 16 banks you have more than enugh pads to control even the largest programs availiable with ease. There is also included a x-y touch pad which can be used for drum rolls or to do filter sweeps on synths or bass sounds. The x-y controller section can be assigned to anything via midi.

Overall 4.7 ( out of 5 )
Touch 4.5 ( out of 5 )
Ease of use ( 5 out of 5 )
Midi assigment ( 5 out of 5 )
Price ( 5 out of 5 )

This is a great unit and compared to the other midi pad controllers i have tested is far above the rest.

Can this be used with Renoise? Is this a stupid question? I've read that contollers come pre mapped for some popular DAWs. I'm pretty sure Renoise isn't one of them!
But, is it possible?
