Hi Folks,
Mt grandfather has been playing the keyboard for years, has numerous 'boards, and various gadgets (dont ask me what they all do!), but of late has been "getting into" PCs and has now decided that he'd like to wire the keyboards into the PC to have a play.
His keyboards are:
* Technics PCM Sound model GX3
* Yamaha PSR 2000
* General Midi WK3 World Keyboard Gem (Generalmusic)
I'm pretty computer savvy (software engineer by trade) and my brother and I use FL Studio a fair bit, whilst i love it, think trying to use it would probably cause my gandad to have a meltdown.
So I'm looking for suggestions for something good, but simpler to both look at and use. If GarageBand was available on the PC, that'd be perfect, is there a PC equivalent?
Hardware wise, his PC is fairly low spec (though I have no problem giving him an upgrade if the software requires it), and I'd be looking to pop either an old SoundBlaster Live! card in there to provide Midi ports, or, in a draw somewhere I think I have an old USB MIDI adapter that'd do the business.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Gavin.
