View Full Version : Using Firepod with Nuendo

I just bought a firepod today to record my drumset (I only have 1 input on my soundcard and getting a firepod was the better option over buying an 8 track mixer to try and mix it through). I installed everything fine, windows recognizes it, nuendo knows it's there, but I can't figure out how to get nuendo to record from it and when I set nuendo to use the device it messed up some other stuff so I went back to recording from my sound card.

Now I can't export audio mixdowns for some reason, the "attributes" parameter is blank, so even though it says 'export PCM/uncompressed wav, stereo interleaved, 16 bit' and all that, when I export, the file is blank.

So I need to know how to set this thing up to record all 8 tracks thru firewire, all at the same time but coming in on different tracks. And I need to still be able to use the midi on my soundcard, since I record some drum stuff from guitar pro.

Can anyone give me some suggestions?

oh, forgot to mention, I have at least double all the system requirements, and the sync light is always blue, so I know it's working, and I know something is wonky in my settings. I just don't know where/what.

Have you checked the Getting Started manual about doing your export?

If you're referring to the one for the firepod, yes. It just walks your through the installation.

I've been using Nuendo for a while, and even though I don't know it inside and out, I've had no problems with it thus far.

Have you addressed the soundcard inside Nuendo?

Umm, if you mean go into device setup and fart around in there, I've been trying that unsuccessfully for 3 days.

No matter what settings I change, nuendo only seems to allow me to choose "Input 1/2" from my sound card.

And have you setup the I/O busses to address the I/O's of the firepod?

..............2-15 of the manual.
