Hi,
I have always used wedges on my setups run via aux sends to mix minus the and isolate the vocalist. in the past money and space was no object so EAW had always provided cabinets, horns and drives for the main arrays, wedges, processors and amps.

but now that i am venturing out on my own, i need to consolidate my equipment list so it can all fit into a wagon.
My question is, i want to move away from the floor wedge and look into using a Hot Spot by galaxy (ideally, i would like to use an in ear solution but since i plan on working with many different bands, that prospect seems expensive and gross).

Does anyone have any experience using the hotspot by galaxy?

also what solutions do you use?

thanks

I recently ran sound for an event at a huge church and used their equipment. They had passive hot spot monitors all over the place and they seemed to work pretty well.

In the 70's my touring show band used little Mitchell monitors that were mic stand mounted and similar to the Hot Spots. They also worked well. We liked not having to take up much stage real estate for the monitors and we could sure hear everything well.

So as an alternative to floor monitors, the small Hot Spots could work.
