I realize that many people don't join forums to participate in a "community", they are simply looking for particular information...which is fine. I don't understand why some folks have this odd desire to be buttholes seemingly for the purpose of being buttholes!

Is there a filter of some sort that AudioForums can use to measure a persons' intentions when posting? If said intentions are outside the measure of human decency, then their computer would just blow up.

I would like to see this implemented.

You must be referring to the "spoonie" types that are trying to get their cracked software to run properly and make professional recordings with no talent...

It's a tough call deciding on which is worse....spammers or trolls. Both should seek some sort of counseling in order to help them obtain a more positive direction in life.

I remember when we use to muse about sending a string of digital data over the super fast 300 baud modem to get the computer at the other end to smoke or blow up or something.

I don't think that ever happened.

but i wonder if you can write a "purpose Filter" that can detect mal-intentions and when it does, it sends over a string that causes their computer to divide by zero....

Ohhh.. ZERO...

back in the "old" days of Windows (NT, 95 and I think 98) there was a little trick called the Ping of Death. I forgot the exact details but by send a icmp ping to a computer of a certain size, Windows freaked out and blue screened.

Ooh, look at me, I live in the city with the record for largest amount of red for a capitalist state! Post boxes, buses, kebabs - all have an unhealthily low amount of green and blue.
