Delta 1010LT & Mixer

hello all,

I'm a n00bie to the audio world and trying to setup a mini studio at home. I just bought the delta 1010lt and am getting the protools suite (a buddie uses it and will be showing me how).

My question is what are some good recommendations for small (~12 channel) mixers to go with this card (and maybe a tutorial on setup)

I would go at least 16 channel so you could have 6 channels for playback, or other devices, I would reccommend a makie 16vlz, not cheap, or you could go with a behringer and save up for a mackie.. thats how i started Behringer then mackie 16, now a mackie 24/8 bus

Thanks for the info. Keep in mind I'm a noob, so how would the 16 channels help me with playback? I am definitely looking at recording one instrument at a time so guessing I need to know more about what you are mentioning.
