I am looking for a low cost wireless microphone (headset style) to be used in an aerobic instruction class at a local fitness club. The instructor will be wearing the microphone within 10-50 feet of the receiver in an open room. It would be great if the wireless microphone transmitter had a second input for an mp3 music player that the instructor will also wear, and control the class music while walking around the room. A balance control on the transmitter to control the mic versus mp3 levels is necessary. Again, low cost is a concern; the instructors buy their own equipment. Any information as to who makes such a device (or similar device) will be appreciated.

Thanks

There's no shortage of headset microphones designed for fitness instructors. They're available in widely varying price ranges. I don't know of any that have a second input for an MP3 player, though. What I'd suggest is getting an MP3 player with an FM transmitter (like the Griffin iTrip) which will broadcast the signal from the player on a regular FM radio frequency. Then use an FM radio receiver to pick up the signal, and run it through a small mixer with the instructor's headset mic.
