My band and I are playing a gig in a church that doesn't have a subwoofer setup and would really like to try and rig something so that we can get a little power from the kick drum. Is there anyway to rig up an old bass amp and maybe use a graphic eq as a sort of cross over and make a sub for the drums? The sound quality doesn't have to be perfect, anything low end we can get out of it will make our sound better. Any suggestions?

A graphic EQ would make a very poor crossover. If the amp has a line input, you could try running it as an aux-fed sub with nothing but kick going to it. If you don't have a line input on the amp (most don't), you'll need to go through some sort of DI box (http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/XAmp/) that takes a signal from line level to Hi-Z instrument level.
