I was looking into this stand-alone DAW made by Mackie and I was wondering if anyone has any opinions on its versatility.

Here is a link to its specs: http://mackie.com/Products/HDR2496.asp

Thanks.

Hi !

We ( my band ) are just using it to record some tracks ... ve've used before ADAT's and PC recording so ... it sound good in my opinion ( 24 bit 48 khz ) . I read that with 96 kHz it can record just 12 tracks . The problem we encountered so far is that although is " windows free" it freezed up a few times ... I think that he don't like to "confuse" it with combined controls ( keyboard and own controls ) ... the good thing is that every time we have to restart it we don't loose any of the takes we made , so I think it saves everything even if stops responding . the editor is usefull and you can quickly provide some editing to the tracks ... we've used some editing to "put the band together" , but isn't so comlplete like Samplitude for example ...

... hope it helps ... other thoughts ?!!
