I have both, the computer has Cakewalk ProAudio9. Would like to have both machines work as a unit and also be able to have my midi devices(keyboard, drum machine,POD) stay all plugged in. I now unplug each instrument before I can use another.
Any help on making the equipment I have now more user friendly would be appreciated.
I have a similar situation. I use equipment from Frontier Designs. I have my synths plugged into a Tango 24 (8 ins, 8 outs) and a Dakota sound card with two adat light pipe ins and outs. The AW has an ADAT card. I run a lightpipe from the Tango in/out of the computer and another to the AW. I would have to think about recording directly into the AW as I use it for accoustic instruments (then dump to the computer) and the Tango etc for the synths. There is no problem moving multiple tracks at once from the AW to computer or vice versa. Also, if you want to disconnect stuff... if is only two wires to do the whole show...

Thanks for your help. I'm not really sure exactly what lightpipe is.

A light pipe is an optical cable that transmits digital formats through light rather than electronic signals.
