Just a warning to everyone regards Roland digital recorders and a user test that they might like to use when listening before they purchase this piece of shiite - AB each channel against each other and the main stereo output and listen to the high, uneven levels of digital interference and noise on the analog input which has an impact on 1. the noise floor and 2. the headroom - and effectively the final recording and perhaps your reputation in the final result. It is of particular interest to note the clearly apparent crossover ie feedback, noise monitored coming from the digital input into the unit when one of rolands own external CD drive units where hooked up ie spdif. This can easily be verified by AB with any of the new or old units by simply pluggin in the CD unit, not playing material, and turn up the volume on digital input for the unit. I purchased a VS880 EX unit from a retail music outlet here in Tasmania Australia nearly 12 months ago. After initially dealing with the retail outlet for a return to manufacturor for service and remedy of above anomoly eg noise levels from inputs unacceptable. And after 12 months of being told that "we'll see if we can arrange something" still nothing has been achieved to remedy the situation even after a major reboardapadectomy ["? - complete removal and replacement of internal board.
