OK OK... So I'm a little impatient...
Anyone got any scoop on this thing?
My home rig is centered around a DA38 and a
Tascam M2600 32/MkII. I want to go 24 Trk.
HD. to do a little local project work. I like
Stand-alone units as I want a lot of simultaneous analog I/O's and I fight Pc's
for a living. (I work in the MIS dept for 2000+ employee Turkey processor)The MX2424
has been looking mighty good to me... but
mighty expensive too... The Alesis, promised to come with 24 (24bit)Analog I/O's at $2100.00 list sounds too good to be true...
I wonder about the quality of those converters?

yeah I agree the key is going to be the sound aka a/d/a. What a great time for home recording so many options. I would tend to beleive with the adat, masterlink products that sound so nice and were revolutionary etc... that this product will deliver. Let's just hope they deliver the product at the right time. MARCH!!!!

Hi... Thanks for the responce. My thoughts
exactly! They've delivered on ADAT and Masterlink. I've never used an ADAT but The
User base certainly has spoken. My 2-trk mix
target is the Masterlink.

hey guy's i called alesis and talked to a tech and he said the converters are excellent!! and it's alot of the same technology/guts from the masterlink. i have a masterlink and he said if i like the sound of the masterlink then i'll like the sound of the HD-24... you can go to the alesis web site and checkout the rear view, it has 24 balanced in's and 24 balanced out's...cool
i have heard others say that there are a few things it can't do that unit's like the mackie can (like waveform editing), but for the price it's a 24 track at 24 bit/48 (note; only 12 tracks at 24 bit/96)RECORDER and i'm old school, i just want a very good pro quality recorder that's dedicated basically to doing one thing and one thing well= RECORDING.
i think that this unit is gonna sound great and i think if in fact it does, for the price ( man i paid $400 more for a 16 bit 8 track adat only 5 years ago!)it could do the same thing the blackface adats did in the early 90's for 24 bit hard disk systems now and reset not only the standards but fortunatly also the price...
and no i don't work for alesis if that's what your thinking, i'm just excited that sombody has finally come out with something of a real high quality ( hopefully ) that dosen't do everything in one box. hey i don't want or like motorized faders, i like analog boards and outboard preamps and compressors and reverbs....
and i can't afford a 24 track 2" reel to reel studer, but now i might be able to get an HD-24! thanks for lettin me ramble. rock on, jason
